Who am I?

One yogic teacher liked to say that it is the most important of questions.

My name is Michael and my name is composed of three parts: Mi, Kha, El.

I feel that the song of the first part of my name is coming to an end. Now, the song of ‘Kha’ is starting. ‘Mi’ sounds like an ascending tone, with ‘M’ symbolising something stable and grounded and ‘iiii’ stretching and pushing it to the limits. It is a song of discovery, of going in all directions and sometimes of deviations from the middle way.

I feel that after I started living in Istanbul a new song has started. ‘Kha’ might be a sound of expansion and going both deeper and outer… I guess that now, these two tracks are being clumsily mixed.

On this platform I am publishing my films, short stories and photographs. I am exploring the themes of authenticity and belonging in art life and in creative work.
